It has been considered beneficial to our health since the ancient times. In all the cultures around the globe, from Egypt to the Far East it has been regarded as medicine for both body and soul. This fact goes well with the wish of the father of medicine - Hippocrates - who used to say: 'Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.' For the Greeks honey was the elixir of life and the godly nectar, the Babylonians would use it to embalm the bodies of their deceased as it was a symbol of eternal happiness.
